Getting Personal with Victoria Yates, Registered Nurse, Whole Health Educator, and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor
My name is:
Victoria Yates
I’m a:
Registered Nurse & Health Coach specializing in Intuitive Eating.
My non-negotiable wellness habits are:
breakfast, movement, and deep breaths.
I’m out of bed at:
around 6 am.
My morning routine goes something like this:
wake up, drink water, make coffee, sit on my couch and read/pray, do some form of movement whether it’s teaching a barre3 class or going on a walk with my dog.
My morning beverage of choice is:
coffee.
I take it:
with whole milk.
Go-to Breakfast:
oatmeal made with milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, pinch of salt, and cinnamon topped with chopped apples or banana and peanut butter.
Lunch is:
a grain bowl, salad, or leftovers (because they’re easy!)
Dinner is often:
varies every night… either a hearty soup, some whole grain or gluten free pasta with a protein and some veggies and a sauce, curry, or a burrito bowl. I love trying new recipes at dinner and getting creative with veggie colors and flavors!
Snacks:
homemade trail mix, plain whole milk yogurt with berries, fruit with nut butter.
My favorite way to get my sweat on is:
in a Barre3 class!
My go to beauty products in and out of the studio are:
Beauty Counter’s overnight resurfacing peel a few times a week… this product is amazing and makes my skin feel so fresh!
For me, self care means:
Beauty Counter’s Countermatch Regimen which includes a super hydrating cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer! This is a great line for normal/dry skin and I love the process of a regimen.
My favorite way to de-stress:
get out in nature and do some form of movement whether it’s just a simple walk around the block with my dog or a nice hike!
My favorite intuitive eating hack is:
Give yourself grace. So often our issues with food revolve around the guilt we feel with eating. Learn from every eating opportunity and have a curious mindset.
On a Friday night, you can find me:
either trying a new recipe in the kitchen or a new take-out place, eating with my hubby and our dog while watching Netflix, and then in bed by 10 :)
Words to live by/life philosophy:
There’s nothing too big that you’re not perfectly equipped to handle.
If I had known then what I know now, I would tell my younger self:
Don’t worry so much about what others think of you.
